CLASSES FOR A CREATIVE SHIFT FROM THE ORDINARY:
We believe that everyone is a born artist; unfortunately many people have their natural creativity stifled at an early age. Our classes are designed so that all participants are encouraged in a non-threatening and stimulating atmosphere to be playful and
learn that the creative experience can be enjoyed, explored and expressed. We provide friendly and quality instruction in a wide
range of techniques in supportive and small groups. They are an incredible opportunity for learning and sharing your own
artistic voice in a warm and eclectic environment.
SILK SCARF PAINTING PARTIES:
Our most popular offering, and a great way to celebrate a special occasion, or a girls-night out! Bring in your food and drinks,
and paint a beautiful silk scarf that you can treasure for years to come. The only requirement is a willingness to experiment and
have a great time with your friends while learning a new skill.
$50 per person, 3 hours. All materials provided.
FOR GROUPS AND GUILDS:
These classes are designed for those with an interest in learning the correct methods of permanently dyeing and printing fabric
and yarn. To ensure personal success and achievement, workshops are held in small friendly and non-threatening groups,
usually 6-12 students, so that plenty of individual attention may be given.
Classes are custom designed for you and your group, whether you are a quilter, seamstress, knitter, weaver or artist. Some of
the classes we offer are:
• Immersion dyeing using fiber-reactive, acid or natural dyes
• Direct application of thickened dyes and pigments(painting on fabric)
• Discharging(removing color) and resists
• Shibori (pleating, folding, stitching to create beautiful patterning on fabric)
• Printing and monoprinting on fabric
• Screenprinting using stencils, thermofaxes and screens
• Dying for knitters using acid dyes
• Feltmaking
Most classes are 1-2 days in length, depending on the scope of content the group is interested in. Week long intensive classes can also be arranged. Minimum enrollment is 6 people. Prices range from $75 - $150 per person for 1-2 day classes. Call us to reserve a spot for your group at 913 422-0222.
All dyes and auxiliary chemicals are included in the class fee; some classes may have a supply list. Detailed handouts are given to each participant, including safety instructions and resources. Pre-registration is required and must be prepayed. Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance, or 50% of the class fee will be retained.

DEMOS:
Our demonstrations are popular for students of any age. Come on in and watch us as we dye, paint, or weave; we love to show
people what we do and answer all your questions. Call us and arrange a date and time.
$5 per person...plan on 30 minutes
here at the studio.
HANDS-ON:
We offer hands-on workshops for small school groups and scout troups. Some workshops are ideal for science classes; for
example, when dyeing with indigo we are utilizing the principles of oxidation and reduction. Some of the workshops we offer:
• Microwave dyeing
• Indigo/natural dyeing
• Vat dye discharge dyeing
These classes range in price from $15 – 20 per student. Call for details.
